Well it's time to TAKE THE POWER BACK and CLOSE THE GAP!!!!
 

Bay Area activists are calling for nationwide GAP actions on the weekend of September 29th-October 1st to put an end to the GAP's exploitative environmental and labor abuses and the company's control over politics!

We are calling for a diversity of tactics to show the GAP that the people will no longer tolerate the exploitation of our democracy, environment and labor for their corporate profits!

As Bay Area activists, we feel a responsibility to challenge the GAP since the headquarters and the flagship store are both in our community.

On September 30th, Bay Area activists will gather to create puppets and artwork for a major rally to be held the following day! On October 1st, we will meet at 1PM for a rally in front of the GAP store on the corner of Powell and Market Streets. There will be speakers, musical performers, dancers, and performance artists, followed by a spiritual ceremony.

At 4pm we will march to the GAP headquarters at One Harrison Street for more speakers, drumming and dancing to deliver demands to the GAP and hold a Vigil.

We want to raise awareness and create major change in the policies of the GAP that pursue profits over people and the environment. We are sending a message out to the corporations of America that environmental devastation, the purchasing of our democracy, and labor exploitation are unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated!

We need to realize our implicit support of the destruction wreaked by exploitative corporations through our consumption of their products. With the knowledge of these injustices that are perpetrated by our government and multi-national corporations, we must raise our voices and put an end to these destructive practices.
